Aviation 2 Class
Course Overview
Aviation II is the Capstone course for the Career Technical Education Aviation Pathway at San Jacinto Valley Academy. Aviation II builds upon the knowledge and skills developed in the Aviation I course. The focus of this course is to fully prepare students to take the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Private Pilot Knowledge exam or FAA Remote Pilot Knowledge exam.
Students will also be eligible to earn flight training scholarships to continue their pilot journey in a real aircraft. This class also has students assist with building an airplane (supervised by an FAA certified A&P Mechanic), allowing them to gain valuable aircraft maintenance experience. Students will also attend industry field trips, have their FAA knowledge exam paid for, and hear from a variety of guest speakers throughout the year.

High School Credit
This course meets the College Preparatory Elective “G” requirement for the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) system.
Career Technical Education
This course meets the Career Technical Education (CTE) Transportation – Operations requirement for the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) system. Aviation 2 is SJVA’s CTE Capstone course for the Aviation Pathway.
FAA Approved Training Device
Students in Aviation 1 are provided training in Precision Flight Control’s CRX MAX Advanced Aviation Training Device. Students can credit 2.5 hours of their time in the training device with a flight instructor towards earning their Private Pilot Certificate.
