I already have a parent portal account, but one of my students is missing.  What do I do?

If you already have a verification code for the missing student you can add additional Students to your ABI account by clicking on the Current Student drop down menu in the top right corner of the web page and select Add Another Student Not Currently Listed.  If you don’t have a verification code, contact your child's teacher or the front office for assistance

 

Will my student be able to view their grades and attendance through the portal?

Yes. Student portal accounts and student email addresses will be created at the beginning of the school year.  Students will be given their login information in class.

 

I am worried about my student accessing inappropriate content on the internet while at school. What do you have in place to prevent this?

SJVA has a content filter which blocks inappropriate content from being viewed by a student.  We also use Go Guardian monitoring software to keep track of the Chromebook usage. 

 

Do you have policies regarding student conduct while accessing the internet?

Yes.  SJVA complies with the Children’s Internet Protection Act or CIPA.  Navigate to www.sjva.net and click on Parents > Parents Resources. For more information about CIPA, navigate to http://www.fcc.gov/guides/childrens-internet-protection-act.

 

I would like to email my student’s teacher but I don’t know the email address.  Where can I find it?

Navigate to www.sjva.net and Contact us > Staff Directory.  Locate your student’s teacher and click Send Email.
