We have some students working together to bring us Cancer Awareness Week November 5-9. This week we will honor those have battled or who are currently battling any kind of cancer. The students working on this decided on using the color PINK to represent this special week (I know this color is usually used for breast cancer, but we are going to use it to represent all cancers this week.) We will be doing the following school wide activities:
Monday: Pink strips of paper will be placed in teachers boxes. On Monday or Tuesday, please have students write on the strip of paper 1) name of the person that has/has had cancer 2) type of cancer if they know 3) what makes them an amazing person. There will be plenty of paper so if students want to use more than one strip of paper they can. Make a chain made out of the paper.
Wednesday: The chains will be collected from each classroom by student
representatives. The chains will be connected together and be hung up in the
office on Thursday.

Thursday: Wear a pink shirt and jeans. Jeans only allowed if student is
wearing pink shirt. The shirt can be any short or long sleeved t-shirt or
polo. The shirt does not need to be solid pink although we encourage it. If
the shirt has lettering, it must be school appropriate. TANK TOPS or TANK
DRESSES ARE NOT ALLOWED. Jeans and denim Bermuda shorts must not be torn or
frayed. Shorts must be knee length or longer. Colored jeans okay.
