Musical Theater

Founded in 2016, SJVA’s musical theater program is designed to foster a space for students to express themselves and come together in a completely safe and supportive environment.  Our musical theater program hopes to encourage personal growth as well as providing real life experience in collaboration and communication to reach a common goal.

*All classes are open to both returning and new students.  Space is limited and priority is given to returning students, but any remaining spots are open to all students.*

 

Meets Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:30-5:00PM and some Fridays from 1:30-2:30PM

 

This group meets twice a week in preparation for performing one 30-45 musical per semester as well as performing for some additional school events throughout the year.  Past musicals have included: The Jungle Book (2x), Seussical the Musical, Aristocats, Aladdin, Winnie the Pooh, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and Pirates Past Noon- A Magic Treehouse Musical. 

Meets as a 7th period course for Middle School on Mondays-Thursdays from 2:35-3:25PM

 

This program will, for the first time this year, be specifically for Middle School students and take place during the school day. We will be meeting 4 times a week during 7th period, as well as holding some additional rehearsals for specific characters once casting has been determined.  This group will rehearse and perform one 60-75 minute musical per semester, as well as performing for a multitude of school events throughout the school year.  Past musicals have included: Alice in Wonderland, HONK, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast Jr.
