SJVA’s Guitar CTE Pathway offers a four-year sequence—Introduction to Guitar, Guitar 1, Guitar 2 (CTE Capstone), and Guitar 3—that builds comprehensive musicianship and professional readiness. Students begin with foundations in technique, standard notation literacy, rhythm, and healthy practice habits; advance to Guitar 1 for deeper reading, scales, ensemble skills, and electric guitar basics; and culminate in Guitar 2 with an individual capstone recital and program notes. Guitar 3 extends learning through real-world application: ensemble focused rehearsals, participation in competitions and public performances, school internship experiences supporting elementary classes, and a collaborative electric guitar build project with defined team roles. Across all levels, the pathway emphasizes ensemble performance, musical expression, and professional habits that prepare students for college, careers, and lifelong engagement with the arts.

The San Jacinto Valley Academy Guitar Club, established in 2014, offers after-school classes for students in grades 3–12. With an emphasis on classical training, the program provides a safe, supportive environment where students build a solid technical and musical foundation. A sequential curriculum guides learners from preparatory through advanced levels of proficiency, and regular ensemble rehearsals and performances develop collaborative musicianship and stage confidence. By encouraging engagement and open dialogue, the program nurtures a strong community and cultivates a lifelong love for the arts.
