2025 - 2026 San Jacinto Valley Academy Chromebook Insurance Program

SJVA will be providing A Chromebook insurance program at a discounted cost that is designed to protect students' devices from accidental damage, theft, and other issues that could arise during their use at school or home. Given the increasing reliance on technology in education, this program helps ensure that students have consistent access to their learning tools without incurring high repair or replacement costs.
Please note: The insurance program only applies to students who take home devices: 3rd grade to 12th grade.
Coverage:
Extended Warranty Covers internal failures such as Touch Screen, Hardrive, Camera, bluetooth, Wi-Fi, System board, battery, Keyboard, ports, Buttons, and more.
Accidental Damage Covers external or internal damage from drops or falls such as Cracked screens, Damage from liquid (spills or full immersion),Camera, Keyboard, ports, buttons, battery, missing keys including damage from animals & cars.
Lost Covers lost, or misplaced device including AC Adapters.
Theft Covers theft & burglary of the device including AC Adapters.
Standard Perils Covers loss from flood, fire and Vandalism.
Please note: Insurance will not cover any intentional damage done to the device by the student who it belongs to.
Premiums: $15 non refundable, per student, charged on an annual basis.
Enrollment:
- Opt-In: The insurance program is optional, however if a Chromebook needs to be repaired or replaced, SJVA will charge the full cost of repairing or replacing the device: $50 for any damage, and $200 to replace the device.
- Please note: Payment for the insurance program will need to be completed at the start of every school year to be enrolled.
Claims Process:
- Report the Incident: Notify the school IT department as soon as damage, theft, or loss occurs. The Chromebook repair office is room 36. A temporary loaner Chromebook will be issued for the student to use while the repairs occur.
- Assessment: The school will assess the claim and determine whether the device will be repaired or replaced.
- Resolution: Once the claim is approved, the device will be repaired or replaced. IT staff will notify students for pick up or deliver it back to students during class.
