Mrs. Blythe 4th Grade

4th grade is such an exciting year for students.  They are now practicing much more independence and taking responsibility for their learning.  They are able to practice higher level thinking and give really thought-provoking comments during discussions.  We'll have an opportunity to expose students to really enriched field trips.  Powwow, Mission San Juan Capistrano, Riley's Gold Rush, Ramona Pageant, are the primary field trips.  All these trips are directly correlated to California state standards for 4th grade.  Also, this year students will be getting more involved in the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).  This method of facilitating students to determine what they desire to learn more about is a great way to make learning more personal and relevant.  PYP will be highlighted through several projects student will complete this year including Family Heritage posters, Mission #22 development, and  creating a store front in a Boomtown.  It's going to be an exciting year, and I look forward to partnering with parents to insure students have a memorable school year.  There are several valuable document links available here.
