The Den is a student-run cafe  and work-based learning program for students in grades 6–12 at SJVA. High school and 8th grade students operate as baristas, gaining experience in crafting drinks, managing marketing, leading staff meetings, and analyzing profit and loss to run a fully functional café. Students in 6th and 7th grade can join the Surge delivery team, building responsibility and communication skills by delivering orders across campus. Donations and proceeds throughout the year support senior scholarship funds and help sustain the program, giving students a meaningful and practical introduction to business and leadership.
