Mission/Vision

Mission
The mission of the SJVA Counseling Program is to cultivate a school community where every student has equal access to opportunities for inquiry, growth, and successes, both now and in their future academic endeavors. We are committed to providing equity and access to ensure all students develop cultural responsiveness and social responsibility that will demonstrate an awareness of and respect for other people who may have different points of view and/or multiple perspectives. Our team works collaboratively with students, families, and educators to foster a positive and supportive school climate for all students, promote self-motivated life long learning, and empower students to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Vision
We envision a supportive environment where every student has access to a school counseling program where barriers to achievement are actively identified and dismantled, enabling all students to overcome challenges, realize their full potential, and graduate college and career-ready. We aim to empower each student to thrive academically, socially, and personally, and to build a foundation where every student can learn and succeed through thinking critically and creatively.
